Block days this week were spent viewing the amazing film Baraka: "Set to the life affirming rhythms of varied religious rituals and nature's own raw beat, Baraka is a visualization of the interconnectedness humans share with the earth and environment...[the film] captures not only the harmony, but also the calamity that humans and nature have visited upon the earth." As you watched this film, I asked you think about the ideas and subjects that are represented in the film, and also how religion, culture, art, literature, and geography all play a vital role in developing one's worldview. How are these depicted in the film? If you were absent, I strongly suggest you see me to set up a time to view it. I asked you to add a paragraph response to this film onto your worldview papers, which are due on Friday rather than block day, which I originally told you.
